In West Philadelphia, born and raised. On the playground is where I spent most of my days... Ok, maybe not. But I did like that show when I was younger. So who am I really? I'm Batman.
Ok, so I'm not Batman or the Fresh Prince. Instead, I'm simply some schmuck who grew up in the murder capital of the world - otherwise known as Sarnia, Ontario. Well, maybe Sarnia isn't the murder capital either, but a former roommate has labelled it as such.
My name is strictly Tim, though I have taken a liking to the Greek origin (using the Latin spelling) of my name, which is Timotheus. Anyone can be a Tim. There's a small part of me that has thought about legally changing my name to Timotheus, but in reality, my full legal name is Timothy. Yet that gets seldom use either. So I will continue using Timotheus informally for the time being. Some other names and nicknames I've used and/or been called (originating from myself and/or others) include, but aren't limited to: Bear, TheBear, Jazlar (Von Steich - optional), Hellspawn, Emperor Bear, Papa Bear, Asshole and some others that aren't worth repeating.
As of the time of this writing, I am currently 34 years old. I have a wife, Sherry, and five children: Emmaly, Xavier, Piers, Lorelai, and Jaina. We have a cat, Yoda, and one fish.
I am currently employed by St. Clair College, working in the IT department as a web technologist. While the job does allow for some creativity from time to time, it is not as fulfilling in that aspect as I would like. Therefore, I have made it my goal to pursue a writing career as well. Work is now under way on a new novel that will be the front runner in this endeavor.
This leads me to my interests. In short, I have too many. I will not list them all right here, right now. I will simply break them down by category and list some specifics. Be sure to check the links up top for further information. I will be adding new links over time.
Sports: I like to watch and play sports. I have cut back on watching though. I don't have enough time to do everything that I want to do, so why waste time watching something I can't control? Anyway, my favorite sports to watch are football (American), hockey, baseball, and basketball. My favorite sports to play are football, baseball, and bowling. Of course, my favorites are not limited to these.
Entertainment: I like music. Mainly heavy metal, but really anything that offers a variety of sounds. These days, I look for bands that can offer me something new, especially when the music is driven by power. I also enjoy video games. In fact, videogames have probably been my number one past time for many years now. I have been cutting back though. Finally, I do enjoy watching movies and television. TV time has also been cut back. I suppose I should also include reading here. In 2008, I have made reading a priority. Still not where I'd like it to be, but it is moving up. My favorite genres include science fiction, fantasy, and horror. That goes for moves, TV, and games as well. A mix of all three (and more) is very welcomed.
Other: So now the loose ends. Quite frankly, the main purpose of all my personal websites is to express myself through (mostly) written word. That is also something that has interested me since a fairly young age. I enjoy writing - creative writing to be specific. Since an early age, I was drawing up (or attempting to) my own comic books and writing stories. At that point, they were based on other properties - much as the fanfiction is nowadays on the web. Later on, I moved on to short stories and the like - some still based on other properties, but mostly original. After highschool, I kind of stopped. But in recent years, I have been - albeit slowly - back at it. Another interest is cooking. Again, I like to create. I am not the best chef in the world, but I can get by in the kitchen. And where I don't succeed, I learn for the next time.
